Soccer Camp Week 1

Week 1 of Three Ways CA Soccer Camp in the Ropewalk Synthetic Pitch was a great success.

Thankfully the rain held off to allow all young people to get the best from this programme.

Enjoyable evening by the young people and great to see their skills and happy faces.

Looking forward to next week.

Go-Karting Incentive

On Tuesday 28th July, junior members of Three Ways Youth Project went for an evening of go-karting at FormulaKarting Newry as part of the NR Outdoor Education Programme, followed by the senior youth group who attended on Thursday 30th July.

Both groups had enjoyable evenings and plenty of competitiveness amongst the majority of them.

Our thanks to the Department for Communities, NR Education Programme and Sean McKevitt for providing the initiative and the funding.

Youth Club Summer Scheme

🤹‍♀️🏀🎾⚽️ YOUTH CLUB SUMMER SCHEME ⚽️🎾🏀🤹‍♀️

This years summer scheme will take place from Monday 17th – Friday 21st August from 11:00am – 3:30pm each day.

PLEASE NOTE, THIS IS FOR CURRENT YOUTH CLUB MEMBERS ONLY.

Throughout the week, we will have activities including; circus skills, nerf wars, mixed sports, arts & crafts and basketball to name a few.

Places will be limited in-line with current guidelines, and a cover charge of £5.00 per young person.

** All procedures will be in place in-line with current guidelines. Young people must bring a packed lunch and in a disposable bag. Sanitising stations will be in place and young people will be briefed by leaders on the first day as to social distancing etc **

FUNDING OUR FUTURE

On Friday 17th July, Three Ways Community Association received confirmation that we have been successful for further funding.

Our thanks to Newry, Mourne and Down District Council for their support. We have been able access a total of £5,210.00 across 4 programmes for the year ahead as we come out of the current pandemic.

£1,000 for suicide prevention that will provide 50 positive mental health wellbeing for young people

£2,000 for community safety and support that will support outdoor activities for young people, a youth led Halloween Funday and Santa Sunday

£1,460 for good relations that will support diversity and cultural activities for young people and a multi-cultural senior citizens Christmas

£750 for Covid-19 response which will support residents who have been furloughed or financial circumstances have changed with vouchers for food supplies, gas, electricity and mobile top-ups

Thank you to our local council, we are delighted. Special mention to Cathy McMahon of CCG who played a key part and for the continued support!

Night Walk July 2020

On Thursday 16th July 2020, Three Ways Youth Project enjoyed more activities with Gullion Adventures and completed a night line out at the Ti Chulainn Centre in Mullaghbane.

Communication key to the completion of the night line, it was great to see them work as a team.

Thanks to Mark for the facilitation, an evening well spent!

Funding Support for TWCA

Three Ways Community Association were delighted to receive confirmation on Thursday 16th July that we have been successful for a £3,800.00 grant with the John Moore’s Foundation to support running costs of the community centre.

We are delighted, a sigh of relief. We take this opportunity to thank the trustees at John Moore’s for their support.

A special mention to Laurence, Cathy and Sean at the Confederation of Community Groups-Ballybot House for their support.

A positive step forward our hard working committee!

Canoeing in Camlough

On Sunday 12th July,  an enjoyable morning was had out on Camlough Lake with Three Ways Youth Project and Gullion Adventures.

The young people took part in some canoeing, not the most enthusiastic bunch at 10:30 am but that soon changed and great craic was had.

Fitbit Winner Announced

Congratulations to the winner of the recent raffle held in May/June 2020 to raise funds for Three Ways Youth Project.

Louise Malone is pictured on Thursday 2nd July 2020 collecting her Fitbit from youth project member, Emma Dillon. Well done Louise

After associated costs, Three Ways Youth Project have raised over £450.00 which will support the continuation of their personal and social development programme.
